Eynsham Lockdown Caterpillar

During Lockdown a caterpillar has appeared on the woodland walk around the ancient Fish Ponds! A brightly coloured stone caterpillar which children have created by painting and decorating stones and then leaving them at the Fish Ponds during their outdoor exercise with their families. There is a photo of the caterpillar in the Gallery, though in fact it is more colourful than this as it was quite gloomy on the day the photo was taken. Some stones depict animals such as a hedgehog, a panda, a ladybird and a horse. Others carry messages such as support for the NHS. It is a wonderful community effort. Our two small grandchildren decorated and added a stone each on Tuesday this week. There are now, on 9 July, some 250 stones and in fact 8 more had been added since Tuesday.
